Nick believed in living his life his own way, finding joy in simple moments and sharing them with others.
A lover of good music, great food and easy company, Nick made every gathering a celebration to look forward to, and one to cherish long after.
He famously owned and ran the legendary Café Griffintown in Montréal. A place of sanctuary and community. A second home immortalized in the hearts of so many.
Anyone who knew Nick will remember his signature hats.
They weren't just hats, they were part of who he was.
Rest easy dearest Nick. May you always wear your hats with pride as you journey onward.
You will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.
Nick is survived by his daughter Emma (Zack) and his brothers Gabriel (Sylviane) and Anthony (Alice).
For those wishing to pay their respects, funeral services will be held at the Résidences funéraires Collins Clarke MacGillivray at 5610 Sherbrooke St W, Montreal, Quebec, H4A 1W5 on August 15th, 2026 from: Visits 12-5pm, Eulogy 5-6pm followed by a reception 6-9pm.
The family is deeply grateful for all of the visits, love, support, and laughs that Nick was able to enjoy in his final days.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation in his name to the church where he volunteered: Christ Church Cathedral, Sunday Lunch,1444 avenue Union, Montreal, H3A 2B8. It’s important to indicate that the donation is for the Sunday Lunch. Please include a return address for a tax receipt.
